Freedom of expression online and cyber security are increasingly under threat on the continent. In Tanzania, the government is adopting various tactics to stifle human rights online ranging from Internet shutdowns, criminalisation of the use of circumvention tools and introduction of draconian laws which infringe freedom of expression online in Tanzania. The session will leverage the civil society community by drawing strategies from panellists and diversity of participants.
