The African Cybersmart Network
Launching the African Cybersmart Network
Session Format: Launch
The African Cybersmart Network is a coalition of non - profit organisations in Africa that promote Cybersecurity Awareness. The network is an initiative by Cybersmart Botswana, a CSO in Botswana which runs awareness campaigns on cybersecurity with the aim of sensitising the public about cybersecurity threats facing ordinary internet users and empowering them with knowledge and insights on safe online behaviours and practises. Upon realisation that several organisations across Africa do similar work, Cybersmart Botswana has mobilised such organisations to form a network through which they can collaboratively undertake capacity building and deliver great impact. CSOs that promote cybersecurity awareness in different African countries are invited to join the network, engage in regional exchanges, capacity building initiatives and resource mobilisation.
DRIF23 will therefore serve as a perfect forum for the launch of the African Cybersmart Network. Members of the network will also benefit from regular training activities on different aspects of cybersecurity awareness.
