Muthoni Muriithi is the Senior Gender Policy Manager at the World Wide Web Foundation. She leads the Web Foundation’s gender-focused policy development and advocacy strategy around the world. This includes engaging in public policy debates on online gender equality, advocating for evidence-based gender policy solutions with policymakers, private sector and other key decision-makers. Muthoni will work to develop and strengthen partnerships with civil society organisations and coalitions to advocate for online gender equality and support the work of grassroots organisations including leading the World Wide Web Foundation’s work with Women’s Right Online (WRO), a research and advocacy network that aims to advance digital equality.
Muthoni is a gender expert and human rights lawyer, with extensive experience in advocating for women’s human rights and gender equality. She has experience in legislative and policy reform, legal and policy research and analysis, gender advocacy and campaigning, projects/program management, strategic litigation, and feminist movement building. She is passionate about advocating for gender equality.
