Asma’u Aliyu is a Software Engineer for BBC through Andela and also the Software Engineering Team Lead at Coamana Market Ltd. She is the lead engineer for the Coamana product, AmanaMarket which can be found at Owing to her years of experience in engineering, both abroad and in Nigeria, she founded KodeKamp, an organization specifically focused on inclusive learning for children. This organization provides children with the necessary tools they need to be able to build themselves and learn better-using technology. One of the aims of this organization is to introduce young boys and girls to technology at a very young age within a safe space.

Through KodeKamp, she has been able to train about 100 vulnerable young girls in Maiduguri, in collaboration with NEEM Foundation. At Maiduguri, her team built specialised ICT learning tools to foster the education of the students, a majority of whom were victims of violent insurgency and did not have any prior computer education.
