Ms Sinikka Antila is the Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Namibia and has served as Ambassador for Trade and Development Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Helsinki from 2015 to 2019.
She has a rich diplomatic career especially in the African continent that has seen her serving as Ambassador of Finland in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with accreditation to Rwanda, Burundi and DRC. Ambassador Antilla has also served as a Permanent Representative of Finland to the East African Commission –EAC; Ambassador of Finland in Lusaka with accreditation also to Zimbabwe and Malawi. Permanent Representative of Finland to Commission for Eastern and Southern Africa –COMESA.
Other roles that Ambassador Antila has worked in the government, diplomatic and development sector include and Director, General Development Policy and Planning; Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Chargé d’Affaires at Embassy of Finland in Windhoek, Namibia, Counsellor, Embassy of Finland in Windhoek, Namibia; Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Desk Officer for UNDP, UNFPA and WFP; Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, as well as Canada Fund and Democratic Development Fund Coordinator, Canadian High Commission, Lagos, Nigeria, Women in Development Coordinator; Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and Associate Expert, Pre-investment and investment activities of ILO, International Labour Organization, Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
